Promoting Thai Fruits in China

The DITP brought Thai fruit exporters to China to promote the country’s range of fruit and explore business opportunities. They visited several cities including Nanning in Guangxi region, Guiyang and Luipanshu in Guizhou province, and Chengdu in Sichuan province.

“China is a potential market with a high purchasing power. Thai companies can export premium fruit to this market,” DITP Director-General, Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, said on June 22. “However, some Chinese importers do not know how to contact Thai farmers and exporters, therefore, the DITP has helped them meet with Thai enterprises.”

Currently, several Thai fruit such as durian, mangosteen, pomelo, banana and jackfruit are popular with Chinese consumers.
