Promoting Trade and Investment with Mozambique

Senior executives of the Ministry of Commerce paid a visit to Mozambique from May 20-25 to explore trade and investment opportunities with the country.

“The Ministry of Commerce Permanent Secretary, Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, led a senior executive team to [visit] Mozambique to promote Thai products and Thai rice exports to the country, as well as sourcing raw materials for the gem and jewelry industry, and seafood products,” DITP Director-General, Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, said on May 21. “The Ministry also wants to support Thai investment in Mozambique’s seafood processing and construction industries.

During this trip, the team had meetings with Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, representatives from the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Economic Association of Mozambique (CTA) and Phoenix Group, a large rice importer, and visited the gem mine of Mustang Resources.
