Singapore’s Growing Appetite for Healthy Snacks

Singapore’s Growing Appetite for Healthy Snacks

Singaporeans prefer more healthy snacks, such as cheese snacks and rice crackers, while buying fewer snacks high in salt, sugar and fats, stated a report by the DITP overseas office in Singapore on April 26.

“Healthy snacks, with the Healthier Choice Symbol or Healthier Snack Symbol on the packaging, are more popular with consumers. Thai food producers should explore opportunities in this market,” DITP Director-General, Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, said.

In 2017, the traditional snack market in Singapore generated sales of S$236.4 million while the nut segment sales amounted to S$83.12 million and popcorn sales were S$6.89 million.
