The DITP revealed that Thai businesses that joined BIOFACH 2018 in Nuremburg, Germany in February received positive feedback from buyers, with popular products including coconut sugar, rice, rice noodles, pasta, curry powder and coconut water.
“Thai organic products received much interest at BIOFACH 2018 due to their quality and standards, which is considered a success in opening new markets on the world stage,” said DITP Director-General Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat. “Immediate sales generated at BIOFACH totalled U$416,500 or approximately 13 million baht, with U$5.792 million, or 180 million baht, of expected sales within a year.”
This year 2,535 exhibitors from 80 countries participated at BIOFACH, which saw over 51,000 visitors worldwide attending. At the event, DITP organised special cooking demonstrations and business matching activities to promote Thai products.
